Jordan Cheyne who has spent the past two seasons racing for Jelly Belly Pro Cycling is on the move in 2018 heading to Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling. The team now counts two Canadians amoung their ranks with James Piccoli also re-signing with the team after joining mid-season ahead of the Tour of Utah.

Cheyne, a native of Belleville, Ont. who now resides in Kelowna, B.C had a solid 2017 placing third overall at the Tour de Beauce, He finished second at the San Dimas Stage Race and raced the Tour of California, Tour of Utah, Tour of Alberta and closed out his season at the Tour of Hainan.

Joining Elevate should see Cheyne given more opportunities to ride for himself though he will surely share team GC duties with Piccoli who himself is a strong climber and time trialist much like Cheyne.

“Being a support rider for riders such as Lachlan Morton and Serghei Tvetcov gave me an up close look at what it takes to become a champion,” Cheyne said about joining the American UCI continental team. “I missed some general classification opportunities this year finishing a close second at the San Dimas Stage Race and third in the Tour de Beauce. Joining the Elevate-KHS team allows me to focus on getting that big stage race win that I am looking for.”

Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling also added Australian sprinter Scott Law who comes over from Cylance Pro Cycling Team and American George Simpson. “We are excited to be working with these three new additions for the upcoming season,” said team sports director, Heath Blackgrove. “Our management group really took the time to look at the areas where we needed to add some depth and strength to achieve our goals for the 2018 season. I believe our patience and focus on the recruiting process allowed us to find the right riders. We believe that George, Scott, and Jordan all share the team’s core values. They are each excited and committed to put in the work necessary win on the national and international stage.”
