Kabush aims for top results in 2012

Canadian mountain bike racer improving performances as the season unfolds.

Geoff Kabush (Scott-3Rox Racing) is aiming for some strong performances on the World Cup circuit this season. The Canadian mountain biker recently won the Sea Otter cross-country event and placed third in the short track event held this weekend in Monterey, California.
“Things are going well for me,” Kabush told Canadian Cycling Magazine. “I’ve had a really exciting off-season, lots of changes and it has been exciting starting out with the new Scott-3Rox team.”
Kabush found a new home with the Canadian team Scott-3Rox Racing at the start of this season after his former Maxxis-Rocky Mountain team folded at the end of last year. “Things really came together with Scott and the 3Rox crew and it is going to be a lot of fun working together,” Kabush said.
Kabush had a slower start to the season at the first World Cup held in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He improved his performance during the second World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium where he placed eleventh. He aims to achieve stronger results as the mountain bike season unfolds.
“Training has been going excellent,” Kabush said. “I was hoping to get the results out at the World Cups starting in Houffalize. The first World Cup in South Africa was pretty frustrating but I’m chalking that up to racing on the other side of the world in March along with a few other issues. I’m definitely feeling better than I ever had and looking forward to the racing ahead.”
