Kabush surges up UCI cyclocross rankings

Natasha Elliot still top Canadian woman

Geoff Kabush, having recently announced signing with the new Scott-3Rox mountain bike racing team, has also moved up in the UCI elite men’s rankings since early December. Kabush became the top ranked Canadian after leapfrogging Craig Richey while moving from 76th to 63rd. Smithers, BC’s Richey slipped three spots to 72nd, while Canadian champion Chris Sheppard moved up two spots to 80th. Evan McNeely at 86th and Mike Garrigan in 96th place round off the Canadian men in the top 100. Canada is ranked 12th out of 26 nations in the elite men’s category.

On the women’s side, Natasha Elliot remains the top Canadian at 61st, only dropping a single spot since early December. Mical Dyck stays put at 63rd and Pepper Harlton climbs to 65th. Like the men, the Canadian elite women are ranked 12th but out of 27 countries.

Belgian Kevin Pauwels (Sunweb-Revor) and American Katie Compton (Rabobank-Giant Off-road Team) remain the top man and woman in cyclocross.
