Katerina Nash and Jeremy Powers win Saturday races at Jingle Cross, Canada’s Maghalie Rochette finishes fourth

With snow flying and the ground frozen, Jeremy Powers and Katerina Nash both rode away from their respective fields to win solo as Jingle Cross continued for a second day of racing in Iowa City on Saturday.

Powers was untouchable, beating second-placed Stephen Hyde by half-a-minute with a supremely controlled ride. Logan Owen finished third, a further half-minute back.

Nash doubled-up on her win from Friday, bettering everyone on the climbs to arrive at the finish alone. Caroline Mani finished second. Courtenay McFadden was third. Canada’s Maghalie Rochette just missed out on the podium, coming fourth in the end. Canadian Mical Dyck was 19th.

The racing continues Sunday, with pro men’s and women’s events.
