KindHuman Bicycles, a brand that has a presence in Toronto, has always prided itself on taking the high road as both a bike company and an organization, the company says on its website.

Now, with plans to get involved in the UCI pro continental scene, it’s all about taking to the road in another way.

In 2017, they announced, KindHuman Bicycles plans to embark upon a project to begin competing at the UCI professional continental level, refining the bikes they produce in the process. According to company co-founder Adam Abramowicz, the idea is to “grow a sustainable platform for professional cycling,” emphasizing the well-being and health of both the organization and its riders.

Retired road and cyclocross rider Adam Myerson, those reports say, will serve as the team’s general manager when it rolls out next year, while Matthew Erchull, founder of the KindHuman-Pactimo amateur team, will play the role of the team’s business development director. The team will ride a new design of a bike that’s been in development for two years, the brand says. With features like enhanced aerodynamics and new, improved materials to increase efficiency while decreasing weight, that bike, KindHuman Bicycles claims, is designed specifically for pro tour competition.

As many Toronto riders know, KindHuman Bicycles has an outlet at 1924 Avenue Road in the city.
