With Leah Kirchmann earning women’s individual National Racing Calendar titles, it’s safe to say that the women’s race at the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic on June 7 was a powerhouse event.

Kirchmann took seventh at the women’s NRC final event to brought her tally to 664 point. Laura Stephens came in 13th place, which brought her to 642 points. Mara Abbott didn’t get any points at Philly but rounds out the NRC top three with 570 points. Kirchmann’s ascent up the ranks was strongly aided by her double stage victory and second overall finish at the Amgen Tour of California.

From Oakland, Calif., and riding under the United Healthcare banner, Katie Hall also ranked: placing 24th, and bringing her overall points up to 486. Just behind Hall was Amber Neben of Lake Forest, Calif., riding for FCS Cycling – Visit Dallas Cycling p/b Noise4Good, who racked up 484 points in fifth place.

For the men, meanwhile, Canadian Mike Woods of Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies claimed the men’s individual standings lead. His second place finish at Philly brought his total to 424 points. Gregory Brenes of Jamis Hagens Berman p/b Sutter, hailing from Northvale, N.J., took second in the standings with 404 points, after a ninth-place finish in Pennsylvania. Ranking third, with 356 points, was John Murphy of Horse Shoe, N.C., riding for United Healthcare—despite not pulling in any points during the week.
