Lacombe 6th overall in Profronde

Keven Lacombe of Team SpiderTech p/b C10 wound up sixth overall at the Profronde Van Drenthe in Holland Saturday.

Keven Lacombe of Team SpiderTech p/b C10 was 10th on the second and final stage of the Profronde Van Drenthe in Holland Saturday to end the two-day race in sixth overall.

The 180-km stage, which featured seven cobbled sections, finished in another bunch sprint. Dutchman Kenny van Hummel of the Skil-Shimano team repeated his win Friday to take the overall win.

After Lacombe finished fifth on Stage 1 SpiderTech’s strategy Saturday was to position the the Montrealer for the run-in to the finish in Hoogeveen.

Francois Parisien, who was sitting in second place in the climbers’ classification after Stage 1, was unable to finish.

The next race for SpiderTech is the Tro Bro Leon in Brittany — also known as “Le Petit Paris-Roubaix” because the 206-km course includes about 30 km of dirt, cobbles and gravel roads.
