Lance coming back to Alberta

Armstrong in Calgary Sept. 8 for LinkPink 2011

Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Amstrong is headed to Calgary Sept. 8 for LinkPink 2011, an event to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Armstrong will lead a fundraising group of individuals and teams on a 60 km ride just outside the city in the morning and then, later in the day, he will address the crowd and answer questions in a session at Telus Convention Centre being moderated by legendary cycling announcer Phil Liggett.

“I am honoured to return to Calgary in September,” said Armstrong. “To not only help the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation celebrate their 25th anniversary, but raise important funds for their cancer research initiatives.”

This will be Armstrong’s sixth fundraising visit to Alberta since 2003. In that time, he has helped raise about $7 million for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. For more information, call 1-866-302-2223.
