If you’re in the Toronto area this Thanksgiving Monday, there’s more than just stuffing yourself to look forward to.

In partnership with the City of Toronto and Ontario Cycling, Cycling Canada will be conducting a free — yes, free — BMX clinic at Centennial Park BMX Centre in Etobicoke, Ont., the site of BMX competition at the Pan Am Games. As a gift of sorts to the public, the event, starting at 11:30 am on Monday, October 12 and running until 3:00 pm, marks the re-opening of the facility — when the BMX centre, a highlight of July’s world-welcoming competition, reverts to a place dedicated to the community.

Marking that occasion, there will be loads of features and expert names on hand. In particular, Cycling Canada’s BMX head coach, Ken Cools, as well as his provincial counterpart with Ontario Cycling, Brendan Arnold, will be among those experts sharing their knowledge. It’s not just an event open to BMX diehards, but anyone interested in the discipline. The event’s focus will be on enhancing BMX skills, from basic all the way up to advanced.

As a free, open-to-everyone event, though, interest has been running high for this event. There’s a cap of 75 spots, and with availability whittled down to 10 open spots earlier in the week, the time to act is now if you’re interested.

Those keen to participate can email geordie.price@cyclingcanada.ca and provide the folllowing information: name, age, emergency contact, and details about BMX experience.
