Hamilton man attacks police with bicycle while in possession of crystal meth

A 23-year-old Hamilton used his bicycle to attack a police officer on Wednesday. The man was also carrying crystal meth. according to an article published by CBC Hamilton.

The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. The man was initially pulled over for riding his bike on the sidewalk. Upon further investigation, the police discovered that the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant. When the police attempted to make an arrest, the man lifted his front wheel and slammed it into the chest of the officer. The man then took off running.

Once caught up to the man, he pulled out a baton and threatened to attack. After the police asking the man repeatedly to drop his weapon, they used a Taser.

The police searched the man and discovered that he was in possession of crystal meth. An EMS unit was called to check him for any further health issues and he was taken into custody.

The 23-year-old has been charged with “two counts assault with a weapon, possession of a scheduled drug and three counts of failing to comply with his probation.”
