NCCH announces new sponsor and its trade-team status

cropped-NCCHlogo_Black_smallOn Wednesday, Team CHCH announced its official status as trade team ahead of the 2014 cycling season. The development squad will field a team of both male and female under-23 riders with the intention of competing at a higher level in the coming year. “Having trade-team status will allow us the opportunity to compete in some higher level events in Canada, as well as other benefits when at national events,” stated Rick Lee in a release. Lee is the NCCH head coach and program director. Team CHCH powered by DEC Express joins four other trade squads in Canada, Jet Fuel-Norco, Equipe Transports Lacombe/Devinci, Team H&R Block and Team Veloselect.

The addition of new title sponsor DEC Express, who has committed for the next five years, only confirms NCCH’s emerging program. Other sponsors include Argon 18, Mackesy Smye and S&B Partners. Additionally, the NCCH’s new collaboration with a parallel program in Australia, Charter Mason Racing, is also new for 2014. The concept is to increase the accessibility of the team to international riders, while also providing new opportunities for local athletes as well.
