New course for Canadian cyclocross championships

Cyclocross

The Canadian cyclocross championships will be held for a second consecutive year in South Surrey, B.C., but on a brand new course. On Nov. 30, the nation’s top cyclocross competitors will be treated to what the race organizers describe as a “fresh experience” that will build on the previous year’s success.

“We are excited for Cycling B.C. to build on the success of the 2012 Canadian championships to host another great event. B.C. is the hotbed for cyclocross in Canada with a large numbers of grassroots riders,” said Nicholas Vipond, Competition Coordinator at Cycling Canada Cyclisme.

The event will host races for elite men and women, under-23 men, junior men and women and masters 30-39, 40-49 and 50+ along with a masters 30+ for women.

Last year’s elite winners were Geoff Kabush (Scott-3RoxRacing) and Mical Dyck (Stan’s No Tubes).

The B.C. Grand Prix of Cyclocross will be held on Dec. 1 also at the South Surrey Athletic Park near White Rock.
