Nine more Canadians headed to MTB Worlds

Cycling Canada has announced that it will be taking additional racers to compete at the 2013 Mountain Bike World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, in September.

“Cycling Canada has expanded its capacity at the World Championships and we’re pleased to use this opportunity to build the best team possible for the World Championships,” said Dan Proulx, head coach of the national team. “We have a lot of depth in our program and these additions will help to ensure that Canada’s development program is a world leader.”

The capacity for extra racers should better help identify not only athletes who could represent Canada at the next Olympic Games, but also those younger athletes still working through the development process.
