Numainville 6th in Flanders

Canadian road champion Joelle Numainville finished sixth in Sunday's women's Ronde van Vlaanderen World Cup in Belgium.

Canadian road champion Joelle Numainville finished sixth in Sunday’s women’s Ronde van Vlaanderen World Cup in Belgium.

The race was won by Annemiek van Vleuten in a two-up sprint over Tatiana Antoshina, with former world champion Marianne Vos rounding out the podium.

Numainville is in Belgium as part of Team TIBCO’s European spring campaign.

The 129-km Ronde, which incorporates the last 55 km of the men’s course, was the TIBCO’s first race of the campaign.

Their next three events are all in the Netherlands: Van Lawerszee Tot Dollard Tou April 9, then Drentse 8 van Dwingello on the 15th and Novilon Eurocup on the 17th. They will then race La Fleche Walonne World Cup in Belgium on the 20th before heading back to North America.
