Ontario cyclist hospitalized after being hit by motorist

On Thursday, a collision occurred in Cambridge involving a cyclist and a motorist, resulting in the rider being hospitalized with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. According to the police, the cyclist was traveling south on Fountain Street North when a driver traveling north attempted to make a turn in front of the cyclist.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) responded to the incident at approximately 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the collision at the intersection of Fountain Street North and Jacob Street.

The cyclist was subsequently transported to a hospital outside the region by Region of Waterloo paramedics. The driver of the Lexus did not sustain any physical injuries, according to authorities. The street remained closed for several hours as a result of the incident. Police say the investigation is currently ongoing, and charges are pending.
