Pearl Izumi

There are numerous kit options out there and finding the one that fits you and your needs can sometimes be a challenge. Pearl Izumi tries to make it easier for you to choose your next kit by using three tiers of apparel: Select, Elite and P.R.O., along with four different fit forms. Select is a more casual relaxed line with a loose fit, Elite begins to introduce some of the performance features and has a semi-form fit, while P.R.O. is the companies top line gear with form fit.

Men’s P.R.O. Leader Jersey

A good summer jersey offers good ventilation, is comfortable, the zipper doesn’t bunch up when you are crouched over your bike and the sleeves and back don’t move around. With the P.R.O. Transfer In-R-Cool fabric Pearl Izumi says you will be kept cool and well ventilated in hot weather. The shoulders on the Leader Jersey have a fabric that Pearl Izumi call Coldblack which is designed to reflect sunlight and keep you cool. The silicon grips keep the back of the jersey nicely in place and the form fit is comfortable giving the jersey a sporty feel. The Pearl Izumi logos on the jersey are also reflective so that when you are out riding after dark you will have some insurance you will still be visible if you forgot your lights. Finally, the three pockets in the back are well placed and easily accessible. There is an interior pocket for a phone or electronic device for when you are training indoors or perhaps less likely when you happen to be racing pro with a radio.

Men’s P.R.O. Pursuit Bib Short

Pearl Izumi

The most important requirement for a good pair of bib shorts is a comfortable fit with a high-quality chamois. The Pursuit bib shorts are snug and the P.R.O. Pursuit 1:1 Chamois is comfortable with good support but is not bulky. Pearl Izumi’s Blackcold makes another appearance making up most of the fabric on the bibs. Additionally, there is nice compression around the quads and the silicone grip at the leg openings hold the cuffs nicely in place. There is no uncomfortable compression or tightness in the grip.

Men’s Elite WxB Jacket

Pearl Izumi

A good rain jacket will keep you dry and visible when you are out riding. This lightweight jacket does exactly what it sets out too. No fancy bells or whistles, the jacket offers protection from the rain in a relaxed-fitting piece of apparel that is intended to go on top of other layers when necessary. For a jacket that provides full rain protection, it does a good job of wicking away moisture. The jacket is a useful piece to have in your wardrobe. It also folds up quite small so it can be tucked away into a pocket when the rain stops.
