Naud-380x380On Tuesday evening Pierrick Naud (Garneau-Quebecor) won the fourth stage of the Mardis Cyclistes de Lachine ahead of Félix Côté-Bouvette (Veloselect) and Yohan Patry (Transports Lacombe) who finished second and third, respectively. Naud’s teammate Simon Lambert-Lemay retained the overall series lead with 368 points, while Naud sits in second overall and Stephen Keeping (Transports Lacombe) is in third.

The fourth round of the Mardi Cyclistes de Lachine was an aggressive one. Guillaume Boivin (Cannondale) is on a break from his duties in the WorldTour and took the start line. Boivin was by all accounts the main protagonist of the stage. He ignited the evening’s race with a series of attacks that ultimately forced the race winning move. Boivin finished fourth after effectively driving the pace of the entire race while Naud ultimately prevailed.

“The team was pretty happy after the win. We know that we have a good crit squad so the main goal was to keep the jersey in the team,” said Pierrick Naud. Garneau-Quebecor is certainly on a hot streak following Remi Pelletier-Roy’s recent win at the Canadian National criterium championships on Sunday. “We are pretty happy with Remi’s win,” said Naud. “ The legs were good yesterday and we will try be strong for BC for Superweek.”

The Garneau-Quebecor squad has a solid grasp on the overall series at Mardis-Lachine. Last year, the team set the course record and they remain the dominant squad in 2014. Next Tuesday will be the fifth round of the series.
