Possible Women’s 1.1 Race in Gatineau, Quebec
Organizers are trying to organize a women's 1.1 UCI sanctioned race in Gatineau, Quebec.
Along with the Chrono Gatineau on June 12, there could be a chance of Gatineau being host to a women’s World Cup. The organizer of the Chrono Gatineau, Remi Berube, is in the process of contacting women’s teams to gauge interest in the race.
According to an email, Berube has secured enough funding to finance such a large scale UCI-sanctioned race. If a World Cup is not possible, at the minimum, Berube would like to run a 1.1 UCI road race and have the World Cup scheduled for 2011.
Interested teams should contact Berube by April 1 so he can proceed with contacting the UCI and arranging the race sanctioning.
