Rapha launches custom apparel program with easy to use design tool

Those who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to put their own design on some Rapha kit need wait no longer. The British apparel company have given the public the tools they need to design their own custom Rapha apparel. On Wednesday, Rapha launched their very first custom program with its marquee feature being a fun and easy to use design tool. The program gives cycling clubs, businesses and groups of friends who want custom threads for a fondo or charity event the chance to make Rapha their apparel of choice.

The minimum for orders is five pieces with the custom program including apparel from the Pro Team, Classic and Core ranges. Rapha’s custom program is set-up to deliver orders within eight weeks of the order. Discounts for larger orders of over 100 pieces can be up to 40 per cent of the starting costs in the custom program for an order of five to nine pieces.

The design process is all run through Rapha’s website that has a newly launched design tool that easily allows users to change colours, apply patterns, produce fades, and insert logos onto a template. Graphics can also be uploaded from outside Rapha’s design tool and incorporated into the design. Once you are finished playing around to come up with your design, you can preview your design on a model to get an idea of what your creative vision looks like in real life.

At launch, apparel pieces in the custom program include short sleeve jerseys, lightweight jerseys, long sleeves, gilets, bib shorts, arm warmers and base layers from Pro and Classic men and women’s Rapha collections. At a later date, aero long and short sleeve jerseys, knee and leg warmers, and bibs from the Core collection will become available in the custom program.

Canadian launch pricing starts for orders ranging from five to nine pieces. Different price brackets exist for 10 to 24, 25 to 49, 50 to 99 and 100 plus pieces in an order. A Pro Team Midweight Jersey in the five to nine order range is listed at $230 with it listed at $160 in the 100 plus order range. Pro Team Bibshorts start at $290 and can be as low as $185 in the biggest orders.
