Canada’s Raphael Gagné has confirmed that he will be switching sponsors for 2016. The former Rocky Mountain Bicycles athlete will be racing with Cannondale.

Gagné broke the news through social media this afternoon.

“I am so excited to announce that I will be riding a Cannondale as I head into this Olympic season,” Gagne announced on Facebook. Accordingly, the Quebec City-based rider will be riding a Cannondale Fat CAAD as he hits the fat bike circuit this weekend, competing in the Mahikan Race in Quebec.

On January 28, Gagné took to social media in saying that a change of jerseys was imminent. “I would like to send a huge thanks to Rocky Mountain,” he wrote, foreshadowing the coming news. “I’ve been racing with them for the last ten years from development level in 2006 as a U23 to high international performance in 2015.”

That 2015 season, of course, saw one career-making achievement after another for the Canadian mountain bike and cyclocross specialist. He powered into the top 10 on day one of the Gran Prix of Gloucester, claimed top honours in men’s Pan Am 2015 cross-country competition, and joined Mical Dyck in claiming Canadian prestige in cyclocross, winning the Elite men’s championship.

“It’s been awesome to race for Rocky Mountain,” Gagné added.
