Scott-3Rox adds Park Tools as a sponsor for 2014

The Canada-based Scott-3Rox Racing team has added Park Tools as a sponsor for the 2014 season.

The news came as part of a release from the St. Paul, Minn.-based company outlining all of the professional bike teams that will receive support this year.

“This deal is something that is really good for the team,” said Kyle Douglas, team manager at Scott-3Rox Racing. “There’s a huge financial outlay we’d have to make if we had to buy tools for the team.”

Aside from full tool kits and work stands for the team’s mechanics, Park Tools is also providing shop kits for the riders.

“It’s great to know that the riders will have the right tools to work on their bikes while between events. In the past, they’ve made do with multi-tools, but now they’ll have the proper stuff,” said Douglas.

Part of the process in applying for sponsorship was to prove a high level of professionalism within the team.

“We had to send in photos of our setup at races, so they could see how we approach this sport,” said Douglas. “They’ve been a great company to work with, and we’re excited to go and get stuff in person from the Park Tools head office.

Park will also support a host of other WorldTour, pro continental, women’s road, mountain bike, cyclocross and development teams.
