SpiderTech continues the cobbles

The team's next Belgian adventure: the Three Days of De Panne

Canadian UCI Pro Continental squad SpiderTech’s deep foray into Europe continues with a mid-week, 2HC-rated Belgian stage race, the Three Days of De Panne. The first day kicks off in Middelkirke and the last day has a split stage with a short road race followed by a 14.7 kilometre time trial. Neither last year’s winner Sebastian Rosseler nor 2010 champion David Millar are at the race, Millar having broken his collarbone at last week’s E3 Prijs Vlaanderen.

All over Europe, SpiderTech has been getting into breakaways, mixing it up in the bunch sprints and achieving decent time trial results. Last week Will Routley took fifth in a road race stage of the Coppi e Bartali while Ryan Roth took twelfth in that race’s time trial. Also, Guillaume Boivin raced to fourth in the Belgian Handzame Classic.

SpiderTech sends new Danish captain Brian Vandborg to De Panne along with Canadians Ryan Anderson, Routley, Boivin, Roth, Hugo Houle, Keven Lacombe and Martin Gilbert. Other Canadians featured are Europcar’s David Veilleux and GreenEdge’s Svein Tuft.
