SpiderTech heads to Tour of Turkey

The SpiderTech p/b C10 team is crossing into Asia this week for the 47th Presidential Tour of Turkey.

The SpiderTech p/b C10 team is crossing into Asia this week for the 47th Presidential Tour of Turkey, which starts Sunday with a prologue in Istanbul.

The 1,360-km race covers eight stages, without time trials or summit finishes, so the race result is hard to predict.

“Someone will win the hardest stage, and that guy will likely win the Tour,” said SpiderTech directeur sportif Steve Bauer, referring to the 218-km fifth stage from Denizli to Fethiye, which includes two major mountain passes.

Seven SpiderTech riders are making the trip:

  • Ryan Anderson (Vancouver, B.C.)
  • Lucas Euser (Napa, Calif.)
  • Bruno Langlois (Quebec, Que.)
  • Pat McCarty (Austin, Tex.)
  • Frank Parisien (Repentigny, Que.)
  • Will Routley (Abbotsford, B.C.)
  • Svein Tuft (Langley, B.C.)

David Boily was also supposed to attend but he had to return to Canada for medical treatment for intestinal problems.
