Team Ineos debuts its new kit

Similar to Team Sky's 2019 outfit except with dark red

Team Ineos may be riding the Tour de Romandie in a one-off kit that reflects its Team Sky roots, but on Wednesday the squad introduced the world to its new colours. Team principal Sir Dave Brailsford posed with new backer Sir Jim Ratcliffe and (probably future Sir) Chris Froome as the squad entered a new era.

Similar to Team Sky’s 2019 togs, the squad has changed its primary colour to dark red, and because everyone’s doing fades these days, Ineos’ jersey fades from red shoulders to black at the chest.

The team will wear their new duds starting at the Tour de Yorkshire starting May 2. Anti-fracking campaigners vow to protest Team Ineos at the race. Ineos is a mammoth corporation with $90 billion in annual sales in chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics.

Some see the dark red as burgundy, but most agree it looks like some kind of expensive wine to be savoured sitting on club chairs of rich Corinthian leather.

Meanwhile, Geraint Thomas, Diego Rosa, Dylan van Baarle, Kenny Elissonde, Filippo Ganna, Vasil Kiryienka and Ben Swift vowed to race on in Switzerland in the anemic one-off.
