Team SpiderTech at Redlands

Team SpiderTech is out in full force at this week's Redlands Bicycle Classic.

Team SpiderTech powered by Planet Energy is racing this weekend at the Redlands Bicycle Classic. This Canadian team has a full race schedule for the season and is using this week as a chance to fine tune and get in some fast racing.

We caught up with 31 year old Bruno Langlois to chat about the race. Langlois has been racing for 13 years and lives in Quebec City, PQ.

What is your role for this stage race?
It always depends on the race situation. Today I worked to protect our leader. If the race is open, I will race aggressively, attack and represent the team in break.

What are your personal goals for this stage race?
It’s a preparation race for the team to improve the level of our fitness for more important races later in the season.

This is the first big race on the NRC calendar, how does it feel to be back racing again in North America?
It’s always nice to race in USA. Race conditions are good. The race is well put on by promoter.

Tell us a bit about the team and how you work together.
The team has mostly the same corps riders as last season. We have 3 new riders with us at this race. We learn to race and interact together in strength. Even if cycling is a single rider winning; it remains to be a team sport from with the whole team contributing to help its leader winning.

What do you do during the downtime after the day’s stage is done?
Replenish the calories is the first and most important thing we do after the stage. We get massage to flush the legs and apply lymphatic SpiderTech on our legs to help to recover faster. We relax in our room. Pretty simple, but essential to be ready to race the next morning.
