The Cyclery Racing adds Erin Attwell to seven women 2019 roster

Ottawa-based the Cyclery Racing is gearing up for another domestic season of racing across Canada and the U.S. For 2019, the team is made up of seven women most of whom are returning from last year’s squad and split their focus with track cycling. The squad is one of the longest running Canadian women’s development teams.

Headlining the roster for another season is Kingston, Ont. native Annie Foreman-Mackey who is a track world championship and Commonwealth Games medallist as well as the 2016 Canadian road champion. She is joined by Ariane Bonhome of Gatineau, Que. who was U23 champion the same year Foreman-Mackey won and Kinley Gibson of Edmonton who was second at the 2018 Canadian champions.

Both were also on the Commonwealth Games team pursuit squad. Foreman-Mackey, Bonhomme and Gibson are members of Canada’s women’s endurance track team racing in the team pursuit and earned two medals with the squad over the 2018-2019 UCI Track World Cup season.

Also returning are Cycling Canada NextGen track athlete Devaney Collier of Edmonton who won a silver medal at the 2016 junior track world championships. Former national junior road race champion Laurie Jussaume of Contrecoeur, Que. and Miriam Brouwer of Burlington, Ont. also return to the Cyclery Racing.

The team’s sole new addition is Erin Attwell of Victoria who was 2016 junior Canadian road race champion. Alongside Collier and Jussaume, Atwell earned a team pursuit bronze medal at the 2018 track World Cup in Minsk.

The team also says goodbye to a few longstanding members of the team.  Amelie Bruneau and 2017 U23 Canadian champion Catherine Ouellette have retired from competition. Emily Flynn has moved to pro U.S. crit team LA Sweat.
