Toronto Hustle launches women’s program for 2019

Local Ontario team seeking riders for the 2019 season announcing a women's team for the coming year

Ontario trade cycling team Toronto Hustle are launching a women’s program in 2019 and have made a call for applications from riders. Toronto Hustle was founded in 2017 by Brad Bradford, the newly-elected Toronto city council member, who worked as an urban planner in the Toronto’s Chief Planner’s Office. For the past two seasons, the team have been racing a North American calendar that included big events like the Redlands Bicycle Classic, BC Superweek, the Tour of Somerville and the Ontario O-Cup circuit.

Thirteen riders made up the 2018 roster and the team is expanding to welcome a women’s roster for the coming season.

“We ride to be strong. We ride to break down barriers and get more females on bikes. We ride to make new friends, have shared experiences and to advocate for safer streets. We don’t train just to race, we train to push our limits and be our best selves,” the team wrote on social media followed by the announcement that a women’s program is set to launch in 2019.

Riders interested in applying to race for Toronto Hustle in 2019 are asked to email torontohustle.media@gmail.com with 250 word and a picture that describes why you ride by Dec. 7
