The fifth stage of the Tour de l’Abitibi was won by Caden Budd. Jonathan Hinse from Team Canada took second with Satoaki Nagashima from Team Japan coming in third.

The Stage 5 route underwent modifications due to wildfires. It was replaced with a stage closer to the host city of Amos, rather than the original stage in Senneterre. To accommodate this change, Stage 6 was resumed but in the opposite direction.

During the stage, a breakaway occurred, with the leading riders establishing a gap of 1 minute and 55 seconds from the rest of the peloton. Although several riders attempted to break away later, only the Americans were successful in distancing themselves from the pack, resulting in Caden Budd’s victory.

Canda’s Matthew Ney retained his brown jersey, while the polka dots jersey remained with Alexis Bouchard of Team Canada. Hinse held onto both his blue and orange jerseys.
