Events At Mount Washington and Whistler on preliminary Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour

The Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour has released a preliminary 11-event schedule for next year which includes two stops in Canada. As of now, the series will conclude with the Bearclaw Invitational at Mount Washington on August 4 followed by the Kokanee Crankworx on August 18 in Whistler.

The 2012 series kicks off March 31 at the Vienna Air King in Austria with seven more events in Swizerland, France, Germany, Austria and Hungary before making its way to North America for the two events in the United States. The series continues with the Claymore Challenge at Highland Mountain in New Hampshire on July 21 followed with the Crankworx Colorado at Winterpark Resort on July 28. The series then moves to Canada for the next two events.

The organizers are expecting to add more stops to the series as discussions with several other events are in progress.

Canadian Brandon Semenuk took the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour overall title. The 20-year old from Squamish, B.C. won three of the events, the Red Bull Joyride in Whistler, the Claymore Challenge at Highland Mountain Park and the 26 Trix in Vienna (AUT).
