U23 Team Reports from Tour des Flandres

The U23 Canadian team raced in the Tour of Flandres on Saturday, April 11, 2010. Racing as part of this Canadian Cycling Association-supported spring European program are:

Keir Place, sent along the following report:

Unfortunately, Flanders didn’t go as I had hoped. After 50km my gears jammed and locked up my drive train, by the time I had a spare sorted and could get going again the race was gone. It is really frustrating and disappointing to not have had the chance to really compete in such a great race. The other Canadian boys all suffered from various ailments and mishaps and no body made the finish in Oudenaarde. All in all, it wasn’t a very satisfying day. My thoughts now turn to the other Nation’s Cups where I aim to channel all the emotion from yesterday into my riding.

Up next for the U23 team is the La Cote Picarde, France UCI 1.Ncup on April 14.
