Vos wins Stage 3 of Women’s Tour, Canada’s Kirchmann finishes sixth

World champion Marianne Vos of the Rabo-Liv team won the field sprint to claim the third stage of the Friends Life Women’s Tour after an intense bout of racing on the roads between Felixstowe and Clacton. Orica-GreenEdge’s Emma Johansson finished second. Giorgia Bronzini of Wiggle-Honda came in third. The victory earned Vos enough in time bonuses to take over the overall lead with two stages remaining in the British race.

Canada’s Leah Kirchmann came an impressive sixth place in the sprint, her best result so far in the event. Her fellow Canadian and Optum presented by Kelly Benefits teammate, Denise Ramsden, came across the line in the middle of the pack.
