2014 Haute Route cyclosportif

hr-pyrenees-logo-smallThe “highest and toughest” cyclosportif in the world, the Haute Challenge’s first phase of registration closes Tuesday, but other rides remain open. These seven-day road races are for amateur cyclists looking to ride the most prestigious cycling terrain in the world: the Alps and the Pyrenees.

In 2013, more than 600 determined cyclist took part in the challenge. In 2014, there will be two phases of entries and a possible third. The first phase ends Oct. 1. The second phase for registration will open on Oct. 10 and run through to Nov. 10. The third phase of registration will open if needed, when final course information and maps are presented.

In 2014, the first challenge (Haute Route Alps) will begin in Geneva on Aug. 24 and finish in Nice, France on Aug. 30. The Haute Route Pyrenees will commence on Sept. 1 in Barcelona, Spain and finish on Sept. 7 in Anglet, France.
