Video: Paris to Ancaster preview

Organizer Tim Farrar talks about what makes the 60 km race so popular.

The 18th annual Paris to Ancaster bicycle race will be held in Ontario Sunday. Inspired by France’s Paris to Roubaix, one of cycling’s oldest races, the Paris to Ancaster route takes riders over some of the roughest farm lanes, trails and gravel roads in southern Ontario. P2A features two main races – a 60 km race from Paris to Ancaster and a 35 km race from St. George to Ancaster. There is also the Sprockids course, available for children aged eight to 12. This year Paris to Ancaster welcomes several elite cyclists, including Seamus McGrath, Peter Mazur, Adam Myerson and Mike Garrigan. The race will be capped at 2,500 total riders, but there is still space available. Registration and more information can be found at parisancaster.com.

Below, race co-organizer Tim Farrar talks about this year’s event with Canadian Cycling Magazine editor Dan Dakin.
