For those in the Toronto area, Scott-3 Rox racing—currently the 19th-ranked UCI mountain bike team in the world—is extending an invitation to get to know the team up close and personal in the new year, and to support the squad’s efforts going into the 2016 season.

The event, happening on Jan. 7, is called “Ride to Rio 2016.”

It’s billed as an opportunity to meet some of North America’s top cross country riders, many of whom have enjoyed commanding success with Scott-3 Rox Racing at the national, Olympic and Pan American levels. Among those athletes, of course, is three-time Olympian Geoff Kabush from British Columbia, who returns to lead the squad in 2016—a critical year for the team, with the Olympics in Rio coming this summer. In preparation, he heads up an impressive group of trail-busting specialists, whose official roster will be introduced at the event.

Along with the opportunity to mingle with the team’s cycling greats, the kick-off party includes a silent auction, official team gear—some signed by the athletes themselves—and for those interested, an open bar.

Ride to Rio 2016 happens at the Arta Gallery in Toronto’s Distillery District, starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7 until 10 p.m. Tickets are available online.
