Rocky Mountain shows off its Instincts

When Rocky Mountain wanted to debut the new Instinct, the solution seemed pretty obvious; put two great riders on the bike, film it, and release a video.

But nothing is ever quite that easy.

Rocky Mountain riders Wade Simmons and Kevin Calhoun packed overnight gear and headed into the Monashee mountains near Revelstoke, B.C. Early snow changed the landscape, but instead of packing it in, the two riders ripped it up.

The end result is a video that reminds us there’s still time to get out and ride.

The new Instinct 999 MSL features a carbon-fibre frame that keeps things clean by running all cables as well as dropper seatpost and suspension remote lines internally. The RIDE-9 suspension allows a quick geometry change to switch from XC marathon to aggressive trail layout. The 29″ wheels match up with 130 mm of suspension travel.

Prices range from $2,700 for the aluminum framed 930 up to $7,600 for the 999 MSL.
