Top hair in road cycling

Stylish heads of hair in the pro men's peloton

While we don’t always get to see cyclists hair because it’s hidden under helmets, there are some pro’s with really solid locks. Before team presentations, you can see and smell that cyclists have put the time and energy in getting themselves tidied up before strapping on their helmets. Others may be more relaxed and just let it hang out the back of the helmet when on the bike. Whether it’s carefully coiffed or stylishly flowing out the back when on the bike, these male cyclists hairdos deserve some admiration.

Marcel Kittel

No list of hair in professional cycling can start without Marcel Kittel at the top. The German sprinter is among the best coiffed in the peloton today and certainly gets the most fanfare for it. His blond locks are usually seen neatly styled and freshly cut.

Peter Sagan

Peter Sagan has worn his hair in all sorts of styles. Whether he’s let his mane grow out and tied it up into a ponytail or chopped all of it off, the three-time world champion is seemingly always sporting a new look. For 2018, the cut is shorter after most of his hair came off before the 2017 world championships.

Simon Geschke

The best beard in the WorldTour peloton definitely deserves a mention in any conversation about hair. Everything below Simon Geschke’s sideburns is just spot on and can be admired on or off the bike. He has been sporting an immaculately coiffed beard for years now and it’s the envy of any facial hair connoisseur.

Australian Mitch Docker’s mullet make him easy to spot out on the road. While not a prolific winner, the EF Education First-Drapac rider gets points for style with a classic do that all too many are hesitant to rock.

Filippo Pozzato

The Italian just oozes personality and whether you hate or love him, there’s no doubt he has a distinctive style. Filippo ‘Pippo’ Pozzato usually wears his curly hair loose and his sometimes wavy, sometimes more curly hair always looks fantastic.

Bob Jungels

Bob Jungels could probably swap careers from professional cycling to modeling if he so chose. The budding general-classification contender from Luxembourg also has a very clean and stylish cut. The two-time Giro young-jersey winner even manages to keep his hair looking great during a hard trainer sessions. Impressive stuff!

Rigoberto Uran

Rigoberto Uran’s thick mane is surely the envy of many a balding cyclist. He sports his dark hair in slightly different styles but it always looks pretty darn good. When the Colombian lets it grow out a bit it even flows out the back of his helmet.

Kiel Reijnen

American Kiel Reijnen is sporting his hair long going into 2018 and if you ask us it looks fantastic. He had a more aero mullet for a while but just letting it grow out more is a good look for the Trek-Segafredo rider.

Daniel Oss

Daniel Oss will support Peter Sagan at the Classics in 2018 and like his teammate, has a head of hair that we thoroughly enjoy. His curly locks flow out the back of his helmet when he’s pounding the cobbles. His hair just looks bouncy and playful off the bike.

Wout Van Aert

While Wout Van Aert is not yet a fully fledged road racer as his focus is still on cyclocross, he keeps his hair thoroughly gelled and styled when not on the bike. It’s sure to appear on some podiums away from the cyclocross scene in the coming years.
