Ruby West of Dundas, Ont., won the under-23 women’s race at the 2015 Canadian cyclocross championships in Winnipeg. Her ‘cross success followed a few weeks after her under-17 squad took the team pursuit win at the track cycling nationals. While CX is more technical than track, West recognizes that the core systems in both disciplines help her to excel. She’s hoping to head to the cyclocross world championships in January.
