Photo by: Team Bahrain-VictoriousOn Saturday, Team Bahrain Victorious, Intermarché – Circus – Wanty and Tudor Pro cycling announced they will withdraw from the Tour de Suisse race after the death of Swiss rider Gino Mäder.
Stage 6 was ridden not as a race, but a tribute to the 26-year-old, with cyclists riding the final 20 km neutralized into Oberwil-Lieli. The day was an emotional one, with several riders breaking down during the course of the ride, remembering their fallen friend. Bahrain Victorious wore black patches on their sleeves, and finished at the front of the peloton side by side.
