If you ride trails this helmet is for you

With trail and enduro riding being so popular over the last few season GIRO’s latest helmet offerings the Montaro, and female version Montara, have created a new standard in mountain bike helmets. These two new models are essentially the same helmet with different sizing and colors. Both helmets provide more coverage then a traditional XC helmet but still keep you cool using their ROC LOC air fit system, which is basically channels in the helmet body, the space created by the retention system between your head and the helmet plus very absorbent pads. Riders loving cameras and/or night riding will appreciate the built-in mount.  For the hard-core enduro rider integrated goggle-strap-channel and adjustable visor keep goggles secure when not being worn. Being able to place goggles on a non-full-face helmet is an unheard of feature. Similarly, sunglasses are also nicely kept on both the front and back of the helmet when not being worn. The feature that completes this package is the Multi-Directional Impact System (MIPS) system to reduce rotational forces and keeps you safer on the trail.

USD pricing will be ~$150 with CAD expected to be under $200 when these helmets hit your local Giro dealer in Fall 2015.

MIPS technology reduces torsional impacts. This technology barely changes the weight, doesn’t affect fit/comfort and best of all can reduce the amount of rotational force to your brain in certain impacts.
