L39ION of Los Angeles rider Justin Williams has been apparently suspended for causing a crash at the Denver Littleton Criterium on August 5, according to a report in Cyclingnews.

A video capturing the incident during the race popped up on social media following the event, prompting USA Cycling to initiate an inquiry. The footage, recorded from some of of the helmet cams of riders in the race, shows Williams making a sharp maneuver on the inside of a left-hand turn, positioning himself to the left of Thomas Gibbons from the Automatic-ABUS team. This maneuver resulted in both riders colliding as Williams pushed Gibbons to the right.

A huge fist fight broke out after the Salt Lake Criterium

The Cyclingnews report stated that both riders then had a heated argument after the incident. That resulted in Gibbon receiving a fine for $250 for using inappropriate language. Williams, on the other hand, has apparently been given a two-month suspension. The suspension begins April 5 and goes to June 2 in 2024. That means he will miss several of the big crits in the states including Speed Week and the Athens Twilight crit.
