Watch: Peter Sagan hops his way up flight of stairs in Mallorca

Slovak navigates up a tricky and narrow set of stone stairs on his bike

Peter Sagan and his Bora-Hansgrohe teammates are in Mallorca putting in some training miles ahead of the 2019 season. Last week, Sagan spoke out about the lack of what he called respect in the pro peloton and said that after his contract expires at the end of the 2021, he could go back to mountain biking. Despite the tone of those words, Sagan seems to be his usual self still having fun on the bike during the Mallorca camp.

On a narrow staircase in town, Sagan decided to take the tricky way up to show off his considerable bikes skills. With a railing in the middle of the staircase and not much room to operate, Sagan hopped each individual step. While it may look easy for the Slovakian champion, turn the sound on and you’ll hear the grunts of his effort to balance and hop his bike up the stone steps.

“As my friend Daniel Oss says, this one is tough even on foot,” Sagan wrote in the Tweet accompanying the video.

Sagan will be entering the 2019 season without the rainbow stripes on his shoulders for the first time in three years. While he won some big races in the rainbow stripes including two green jerseys at the Tour de France, the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix the Slovak has a seemingly endless potential to keep adding to his list of big wins.
