Debunking myths of the training stress score

Finding the right approach to fitness data

Once you start riding with a power meter, you fall into a soup of initialisms: FTP, NP, W/kg and, of course, TSS. The latter stands for training stress score, which, along with chronic training load (or fitness score) and acute training load (fatigue), has gained widespread popularity thanks to its creator Andy Coggan and the TrainingPeaks software. While TSS can help you to understand and improve your fitness, there are also several myths that have emerged as more people use this data.
