Cycling Canada selects eight women for European racing campaign

Cycling Canada announced the eight women who will participate in the elite women’s European campaign that begins on April 7 in Belgium and ends on May 2 in Luxembourg.

The team includes national criterium champion Leah Kirchmann (Optum presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies), who is currently sitting in second place overall at the Redlands Bicycle Classic following the second stage. Her Optum teammate Annie Ewart will also be joining the national team for this trip.

Allison Beveridge (Trek Red Truck Racing) and Steph Roorda are coming off a strong track season after winning the World Cup series overall title in the women’s team pursuit and earning the silver medal at the world championships.

Other members of the team are Catherine Desseureault, Gabrielle Pilote-Fortin, Annie Foreman-Mackey (Steven’s Racing presented by The Cyclery) and Anika Todd (Team Tibco).
